Your beloved dog deserves more than snapshots

Time is precious. Memories should be too
Where did the time go? That energetic puppy phase is a little hazy. You already sense that time feels different now. Every day is a gift. Every moment matters more.
Phone snapshots don't capture the depth of your bond or the spirit of your furry soulmate. They can't honor the graying muzzle you've come to love, or the quiet dignity that comes with age.
You deserve artwork that honors this relationship—especially during the senior years when every moment counts.
I understand how you feel
Having called myself the "dog mom" of five Great Danes, I know the urgency and heartbreak of limited time. Since 2008, I've been creating portraits in the Pacific Northwest. While I photograph dogs of all breeds and at every life stage, my heart holds a special place for senior dogs and gentle giants—creating timeless keepsakes you'll treasure forever.
These sessions aren't just about your dog—they're about your relationship. I'll guide you through natural, comfortable moments together. You'll actually be in the photos. No awkward staging, no forced smiles. Just genuine connection.

Yogi was completely at ease, and the portraits we got are beautiful. I treasure them.”
You may be wondering …
Take a peek at questions others have asked prior to their dog photography sessions. You’ll see that generally we “go with the flow”, reading (and anticipating) your dogs reactions all the way, so they have a great time. If you want to talk about something not on this list, just schedule a call so we can make sure your questions are answered to your satisfaction.
-
Absolutely! Some of my favorite portraits capture dogs in motion—running, playing, being themselves. We work at your dog's pace and energy level. A great portrait doesn't require a still pose.
-
Not at all. We can create beautiful portraits with your dog on-leash, and you'll never know there was a leash! Your dog's safety and comfort come first.
-
Since the weather can change frequently, I monitor weather forecasts closely and will reach out proactively if conditions look questionable. Misty images can be very moody - but let’s think about your dog’s groomed look! We'll reschedule for a day that works for both of us. Your session fee is fully transferable to your new date.
-
Most sessions last between 1-2 hours, but we're never rushed. If your dog needs breaks, we take breaks. If they're having a great time and we're capturing magic, we keep going. This is about quality, not speed.
-
Yes! The dogs can warm up to me at their own pace. Often the most timid dogs relax once they realize I'm just another person who wants to hang out with them... and dole out yummy treats! (I bring a variety, but let me know during our planning session if we should use your treats).
-
Absolutely! Let's go over the dogs and people that will be involved in the photo session during our planning conversation, since we will want to capture individual portraits and the group.
-
Wear something comfortable that you feel good in—natural, solid colors are best. These photos are about you and your dog, so authenticity matters. You can bring your dog's favorite treats to start off, but my selection may be more intriguing. If your dog loves catching balls, by all means, let's see them fly! I'll guide you through the rest during our planning conversation.
-
Let's discuss desired locations during our planning conversation.

Glad you asked, and sorry for any confusion. Go ahead and download this complementary guide with tips for photographing your dog with your mobile phone. Before our session or when we are together, show me a few of your favorite images and those you wish were better — always happy to give you some pointers.
Where you'll get the most value is from the way I capture your dog's personality to create professional artwork that you'll treasure for a lifetime.
Think of it this way: you can cook at home, but sometimes you want a chef to create something special. I'm here for those moments when you want heirloom-quality portraits that honor your bond.
